Why does Futaba always use an odd size cell in their battery packs in their transmitters? ie the 8/12fg and the 14sg.

Good question, Malcolm. I will personally stick with my 8FGS. Ihave no need of telemetry or servo slow functionally.
And I will stay with Fasst any day over S-fhss.

821's are all I use. I run them on A123's (fully charged they can reach 7.2 volts, the same as a five cell NIMH pack, no regulatr required). Enjoy.

My concern is not where to place the receiver, but the battery pack. Do you think the heat from the engine will be a problem?
