RE: FLIGHT FIELD BOX QUESTION

When I first started in this hobby, I crashed a lot, and generally ended the day with all my planes damaged in some manner. I eventually worked my way up to three planes, and could stay at the field...

RE: flying lawnmower

Having seen one of these at a Fly-in, I too am truely amazed by their flying ability. The one I saw had a 90 FS and could do some amazing stunts, as well as the typical manuevers. It was a very...

RE: Is an "un"-hedral elevator on a trainer a problem?

You might want to consider dual wires. If you just use one, it may "war" the wing, change the incidence, or cause a lifing surface.

As for the Chuckles, just tell them your next plane is going...

RE: Mythbusters Tonight 9pm!

That is an interesting show, but who is to say what is a Myth, and what is not? Just because they can't find a one-armed man that lost his hook down at lover's lane, doesn't mean it didn't happen! ...

RE: ...

Great stories, all, Thanks! :-) Here's mine.

Pica 1/12 scale P-51, with a TT .25. It did a snap roll on all six hand launches. Talked to our club president, and he said he got one good...

RE: Stuka siren noise

Dr. Pepper,

I hope the boys at AMA didn't hear you say that :-).

Unfortunately, I think what you are looking for wouldn't really work, due to the scale factor. The sirens and the horns...

RE: Airplane mailbox

MinnFlyer....

Nope! The "Air Mail" boxes are mounted considerably higher :-). Seriously, a guy in town has one, and it is about 6 ft higher than the normal postman's box. I can't help...

RE: RC flying will last forever

That's probably true, there is also a possibility that without AMA, it may have been illegal by now. There would probably be at least some RC Fliers at some level. But I don't believe the pilots,...

RE: RC flying will last forever

IN the case of the AMA, they made so much money (i.e., profit) that they had to spend millions on the field in Muncie in order to retain their "non-profit" status. That doesn't justify an increase...

RE: Anyone flying combat around tulsa, Ok?

I am in Stillwater and there are only two or three (me included) here. One of the guys that used to fly combat, has turned toward free flight. I am new to it, and ooking for people interested also....

RE: <span class=

I don't know if it will help you much, but thanks to Gerryy's reply, I found this link http://www.skyfirevideo.com/renoairraces/skyfire_93/skyfire93.html

It refers to the Jackie C in the 1993...

RE: <span class=

I have the Squadron/Signals P-51 book. It has an artist conception to the "Doll" on the front--in color--and another in the book (pg. 42) that is B&W. The nose on this one appears to be divided in...

RE: Deep Thought...

Wingnut,

The internet was "invented" by a bunch of really smart guys at Bell Labs. They wanted to communicate (email) with their buddies who where still in school, but the US mail was too slow....

RE: new feul, engine stalls

Since the oil film is a little thicker than 1/2 thousands, I think change in size, due to heat, is much more than a millionth of an inch. I don't have my inside micrometers, so it is a little hard...

RE: 4*60 engine mounting question

I spaced mine so the prop was about a 1/4 to a 1/2" clearance in front of the fuse. If you plan to use the engine location to balance your plane, be sure your radio is installed FIRST! It is best...

RE: are GWS and thundertiger engines...

I gotta agree. I have a TT .25 and it has been great. Starts easy, never flamed out, pulls my 2.7lb P-51 with authority. Hard to beat at any price.

Yep...the AMA does allow you to use rocket type propulsion systems, as pointed out, and given the conditions sited above.

However, I think if you read the AMA membership agreement a little...
