Nothing really wrong with Tygon (if you use the high-quality stuff that doesn't harden). OTOH, you can use Viton on the pickup line and be done with it...

I don't own a .55, but isn't there an arrow on the top of the piston that points to the exhaust port? Some of my other OS engines have the arrow.

Interesting...I was helping one of my friends with his SV17...Same symptoms...Next attempt to tune the engine will be with the engine off the firewall, and on a test stand...

I use viton with dual clunks on my fill and pickup lines, and Hayes #249 neoprene with a 90-degree fitting for the vent line. With postage, the viton cost me about $5 per foot, but no more fuel...
