RE: Remind me why do we fly glow planes, compare to electric planes,

You can easily get 3d performance on 2500 to 3000 mah 11.1volt pack.

You can get longer run times by running huge packs but then you take away performance. On a sport 40 scale a 10oz...

RE: Remind me why do we fly glow planes, compare to electric planes,

Just a guess but i would assume electrics now make up 80%+ of the 25 scale and lower market though just 10% or less of the 40 scale and higher market. Overall electrics make up over 50% of the...

RE: Remind me why do we fly glow planes, compare to electric planes,

My numbers were pretty conservative.

In reality, it's been proven you can achieve 500 cycles per battery even charging at 3c on some of the newer packs. That would take your cost for each...

RE: Remind me why do we fly glow planes, compare to electric planes,

Using around a 10oz tank, you get about 12 flights per gallon of $15 fuel or $1.25 a flight.

A Lipo battery will get around 200 charges for a $100 battery which would be 50c a flight.

You can get a 30c 3000mah 4s pack for $100 now and the cost is only going to drop more in the future as more people convert to electric power.

Why electric over...
