RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Hmm, I haven't been involved in this forum much recently. I still have my RA, had a broken rear dogbone but I had ordered a pair of tamiya hop-up CVD's for it which I had sitting around for what...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

No problem.

Just be careful if you go with lipos but don't go brushless; typically upgrade brushless controllers have a low voltage cutoff designed for lipos which prevents over-discharging...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

There is no off the shelf way to extend the wheelbase beyond the longest of the two spec'd on tamiya's website. Besides if you did so the intended bodies would not fit right.

You can increase...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Good question, myself and our esteemed fellow forum dwellers need to know a bit more to help guide you in the right direction;

Do you plan on using the provided brushed ESC and motor, or are you...

RE: OFFICAL RC18R THREAD

Not much maybe 4-5MM

It's the last thing I'd consider for gravel use... If you want a rally car that would work on gravel I suggest you get something bigger like a tamiya DF03 RA. (bonus; its...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

I don't know...

It could be I'm a little jaded with RC cars at least at the moment; my complaint doesn't seem to be so popular... It's just that in my opinion/experience is that ball diffs are...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

I would want to remove a bit, how do you adjust your REAR toe in with a fixed lower control arm pivot point and hub carrier? I can adjust front toe and camber, but only camber in the back.

If...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

That's exactly what these tires are designed for. They don't bounce too bad IIRC. I do use a variety of tires for different surfaces, from racing slicks to rally tires and everything in between....

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

None. The tire's structure doesn't require any, adding some would increase rotating mass and unsprung weight while rendering the sidewall and contact patch way too hard to work right.

I would...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Looking sharp indeed!

The level at which people are finishing this car is phenomenal (people other than myself that is)

It really brings out the artist in (most of) us.

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

I upgraded my servo saver simply because I felt the stock one had too much slop. usually, aftermarket servo savers come with different adapters for most servo horns. To just get it going I suppose...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Drag in the differential(s) causing one side to be looser than the other.

disassemble, clean and grease. put back together and see if same. Or, tighten them to the point of near-lock and see if...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

I would make the same assumption.

RE: OFFICAL RC18R THREAD

I still have mine, but I just don't drive the RC cars that much anymore. I'll likely take it out this spring and get the bug all over again.

I've been curious about converting it to R2 (belt...
