RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

sounds like your thrust angle may be down.

Could it just be a lot of friction?

I say shop for a new plane that suits your motor, esc and pack...

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

H2O paint is very heavy imo. (krylon product) In my experience it goes on spitting no matter how much you shake the can, on the plus side it has a great luster that will even fill all the little...

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

I politely disagree;

changing the height of the prop alters the thrust line in relation to the cg height and horisontal stab and will significantly affect any plane's behaviour. In this case is...

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

hate it... Many swear by it but i had my share of problems (lost two planes to a faulty one, one just after purchase and one after they "retuned" it. Worst customer service ever, at least castle...

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

You need 2 pins, male and female. You will need at least 3 connectors, one for the esc one for the pack and one for the charger.

Well, to keep it dry it would involve some custom work,...

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

Looking at the pic and reading greg's review (i remember having seen that before) I'd immediately replace the jst battery plug with at least deans micro plugs. Those things are rated for 10A and get...

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

no a 180 weighs 40 grams but you need a gearbox to go with it so it ballances out to the same. (180 = higher kv inrunner with less torque)

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

motor is 920kv, assuming the pack retains 11V AND that the motor is capable of spinning that prop at it's no load speed (it's not) it would mean under 14oz of thrust.

(920 rpm/volt X 11V =...

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

that motor is meant to swing larger slowfly props, like 9x6 -10x4.7 and is a bit heavy for this type of aircraft. You would need something in the 30-45 gram range and definitely higher KV or it won't...

RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally

well if the prop shaft sits 4" off the water and you run a 9x6 prop that means you have 1/2 inch of prop striking the water at the very least (assuming the boat doesn't sink down any lower than that)...
