I'm getting ready to put the engine in a 56" YAK so I'm going to go through it completely before I mount it. It could have been getting hot but it had lots of airflow around the cylinder.

Here's what I got from a fellow member and it works great! It sounds like the engine is leaning out at idle. Here's a quick way to test it. You'll need a tach. Get it to idle at 2,000 or 2,100 rpms....
