RE: Return of Lunchbox..

This is my very first electric RC. I used the Nicad 7.2V batts to run my hand held roto unit to start my roto start Savage.

Oh well, I guess I should jump strainght into the modern RC world and...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I rest the ESC. Thanks for the tip. But I also figured out the problem. The ESC and motor are fins, the NiCad batt simply sucks, made in china Duratrash (has "Shark" printed on it). The only thing...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Another question I have: How many of you put foam inserts into your LB wheels? When I saw that my Tamiya LB kit didint have any foam inserts, I immediately ran to the RC store and bought some. The...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

LOL, I didnt know the 755 is a 4th scale. In my gassers, I use all digitals, all of them Hitecs. In one FG, I use 2x 5645 for gas and brakes, and for the steering, I use 2x 5745.
In my other FG, I...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I had to go with a servo that begines with a "5" or "7". I opted for the 5845 HB, a cheap but still digital servo, I have to use digital because my radio transmits in HRS mode.

Thanks for the...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Yeah, I hate that. I wish they would all adopt an industry standard spline count.
I used the Tamiya button that came with my LunchBox kit that is meant to fit on Hitecs. I tried to use a spare...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Yeah, I though about it. I was thinking of getting a MG servo, this one is a $25 digital HB servo with plastic knob. When I pull off the horn, I hope the splines that were ripped off were not the...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Thanks for the links. Mine is a plastic type servo. In these links, I like the fact that these servo savers have spare spline buttons so I can replace them as the splines strip. :D

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I had the splines in the stock servo hon rip, so now, with my fingers, I can make the servo horn slip by turning the wheels. I like the idea that the stock Tamiya servo horn has a servo saver ring to...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Okay, I have another LB question: Is there a better steering set-up or better steering servo arms for these RCs? I hate the stock Tamiya servo horn, it slips way too much, even when cranked down all...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Also, same question as the bearings, does this fellow still esll these? If not, I might be able to fashion my own lights using Radio Shack parts with Radio Shack LEDs. All I would need to know is...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Is this guy a regular seller with an on-line store or was this just a one time deal?
In short, does he still sell them? I need like 8 more bearings of the larger size.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Thanks. I bought these bearings, see below. I could not get 9x 5x11 bearings, the stupid store only had one blister pack. I guess I will try to see if I can buy a pack of 10 on-line.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Thanks!

My LB is still brand new, so new, that I havent even put an RX into it yet, and I already want to drop so many upgrades into it.

As for the plastic teeth, since the LB is a very...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I forgot to add: Are there metal tranny gears to replace the plastic ones with? I hit a google search and I cannot find anything on upgrading a LunchBox with metal gears.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Speaking of ball bearings, just what size are they? Though the axle shafts are super smooth and the little Tamiya plastic bushings seem sound, I know that friction for sure will overcome them.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I've been watching some Lunchbox vids, and these old-school RCs seem way-fun! (Makes me want to get one for sure)
