I have The low wing and the high wing Sonic. Use the ASP .32 2-stroke. You won't be disappointed. The engine manual specifies only the 10x6 prop. I'm using the Xoar PJA 10x6. Excellent throttle...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

An OS 55AX weighs 18.5 oz with muffler. The 10cc weighs 22 oz with muffler and ignition, and you still need a battery or IBEC to power the ignition. The Tech-Aero IBEC weighs about an ounce, so your...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

Thanks for the comments. The cowl was really easy on this one. Note that the spark plug and the cowl mount screw are in line with each other. With the cowl off I removed the plug and used a divider...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

That's correct. The plane was ballistic! I seriously doubt that the 10GX can out perform the electric setup that was in the Stinger II.
I just wanted to try out the new gasser but didn't want to...

RE: Lanier RC Stinger II by Great Planes.

The plane flew okay on 4S, but somewhat ho-hum as sport planes go. Consider this: At 4S using 14.8v nominal voltage, your 600kv motor will only be turning 8800 RPM, theoretically. Using 6S at 22.2...

RE: Lanier RC Stinger II by Great Planes.

@bhcnomo: I was dissapointed with the plane's performance using 4S. I switched motors from the power 46 to the rimfire 46 and ran that on 5S with a 13x8 Xoar e-prop. It's a whole different plane now....

RE: Lanier RC Stinger II by Great Planes.

Here an update to my previous post. I tried an APC 13x8E prop and the results were disappointing. I reset the throttle travel to 100% and the WOT output was only 41 amps and 653 watts. I went back to...

RE: Lanier RC Stinger II by Great Planes.

Got my cg sorted out. I'm using an e-flite 4s 4000 30c lipo and started out with an APC 13x10e prop. First run up pulled 63a @ 993 watts. That would be nice, but I'm going to stay within the motor's...

RE: Lanier RC Stinger II by Great Planes.

Plane all together now. CG is coming out nose heavy with a 4000 4s pushed all the way back to the receiver. This is without the spinner. Just might have to relocate the receiver or add some tail...

RE: Lanier RC Stinger II by Great Planes.

Thank you for the pics. It looks like you have the battery over the CG, right? I'm guessing you used 2 1" nylon spacers also. How far is the spinner backplate from the front of the cowl? Pretty...

Goldberg Ultimate 60.5" Bipe ARF Prop?

I plan to electrifly this biplane with an E-Flite power 1.60. I will be using a 10s 5000 lipo setup and a CC 85A HV ESC. I'm looking for prop suggestions. The motor is rated for 9s-10s and 18x8 to...

RE: 47" Edge V3 New Batch!!!

I started out with a 55AX, then switched to a Saito 82 to see what the difference would be. I switched back to the 55AX because the plane became too nose heavy, and that's with the 82 al the way back...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
