I agree with Ernie. I had one on a ST-51 and it definitely made a difference over the stock muffler.

I believe Tcat1000 is using the 12x4 & 12.25x3.75 APC for mainly 3D & fun-fly type aerobatics. An 11x8 APC gives this motor great RPMs for fast flight on the .40-.46 sized planes. 4 of my flying...

please keep us posted. I know the LS needle on the AX series are pretty touchy & it's easy to over-lean the mix on the low end. That bit of info is contained in posts on the 46ax from just...

If that fixed it on yours, I would remove the baffle, too.
The servo in the picture is too small for a .46 or larger engine and remain reliable. A Hitec HS-82 or larger would be best. I use...

Open the back plate & check the bearings for rust. Pull the carb and check the shaft for shaft for rust.
The oil cooling is not a direct effect function, it is caused by a LACK OF FRICTION due...

Protect the Bearings, you bet. But just as needy, the cyl/piston: .55AX cylinder/piston assy = $88.99 at Tower Hobbies.
We can 100% syn in 4s because it doesn't get as hot, and they have rings.

Gentlemen,
If you read Dave Gierke's articles in MAN and his books, you'll find out that there should be some castor oil in Non-Ringed motors.

My .55AX also won't start if it gets cooled down too much without using a starter. First start of the day has to be with a starter.
I can tune & start ST .51 & .61's just...

go look up W8YE profile and then the comments he makes on the .55AX. He has TONS of experience in model planes & motors.

1. Hobby Services DOES NOT care about the customer when it comes to an OS .55AX.
