RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

Thanks, knucklebutt for the photos. I totally forgot about making my own extension. Sometimes the obvious is right in front of your face and you still can't see it. However, I now have a new problem....

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

Thanks, Knucklebuck. I already have an extension from the needle valve, but it isn't long enough to reach the hole I drilled into the top of the cowling. Yes could you provide the photos? What I...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

Hi guys. I haven't been back here for awhile, but see the thread is quite long. Not having the time to go through all of the posts, I thought I'd ask my question here. How do you make adjustments to...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

Has anyone had a problem with the tail wheel collapsing? I'm ready to fly the maiden. I have the recommended 90 oz-in. Futaba servo installed, but when I set it on the ground, the tail wheel will...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

First, check the pull-pull wire guide tubes. Yours may be ok, but mine had the left tube installed right behind the tail wheel retract mount. I had to make a major PIA modification to the mount to...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

smchale,
The spinner should come with an adapter and back plate, so if you mount the cowl where the drive hub (for the OS 1.60 2-stroke) is flush with front of the cowling and put on the back plate...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

I keep forgeting to post this question. I remember reading something about using the Sintered Bronze tank filter as a filtered clunk, but I don't remember what it was I read other than it can build...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

Great ideas, guys. I figured out that I could place a wire just long enough to stick out of the top of the cowling into the needle valve knob, lock it down with the set screw and then slide the...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

Can someone tell me what the clearance should be between the prop and the cowl? If I mount the cowl according to where the pre-drilled holes are, I get about 1/32" clearance. That's seems to close to...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

I agree. I too had similar QC oversights, such as the left pull-pull tube was directly behind the tail wheel mount and I had to cut away a large portion of the mount and run a smaller tube through it...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

I contacted the tech support email and asked the same question about the 5/16" off wing tip and was told that 5/16" isn't really significant in the air and I shouldn't worry about it. I don't notice...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

I took another look at the engine manual and see that the third line is indeed capped. I didn't notice that before. Installing a third line with a second filter/clunk for fueling is a good idea....

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

What's a good fuel mixture for the OS160 2-stroke? Buying fuel here in Germany is more expensive than mixing it myself, so I thought I'd look into this. I'm looking at 75% methenol, 20% castor oil,...
