Hey' just test flew mine in the fron yard today. It lifted off the ground....... but it needs a huge runway. Got up about a foot, but then I had to decrease the height (or else run into a tree;)).I...

Started a quick one of my one.....Finished the fuse, Put a 400 size motor with futaba eletronics in it and had the same kind of success as you. Pulls through the carpet real fast.Yes it does look...

IMO just try it dirrect drive first, see if it flies. And if you don't like it put a gearbox on it.:D
