You should do some kind of setup using E-maxx motor mounts, with four Mabuchi RS-775 motors to look something like this:

I have a 24 volt motor that you might consider as a generator. It develops 24 volts at 3600 RPM. The shaft is 1/4" D type. It's got some weight to it though.

You should give it a try. This motor has precise speed control and the cogging is very low. I opened up my motor and the armature has the iron laminates skewed. The wire is small like maybe 24 gauge...
