I have a raytek and thought the same....until I used my friend''s exergen. Look up the exergen, what they are used for, etc, and the specs...when the exact temp of something needs to be known,...

temps vary for a variety of reasons - engine, fuel, glow plug, humidity, temp, pipe, clutch, etc all will factor in to the temps you are seeing on your mills. Some engines run cooler then others...
