RE: Ames Multi-Engine Fly-In is Back!

You guys need to jump on board and harass Mark into flying Frenesi and then bring a crowd down to cheer him on. He's had it for over a year and hasn't flown it himself yet. It's not a real plane...

RE: World models spitfire gs engine size

I flew one the last five years with a Saito 180 and an 18x6 apc prop. Hauled it around well and sounded great with header on it. Prop it to run 8800 or slightly below. If you prop it to run much...

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

The 6202VVC3 is the number right off of the NSK label. There is also a 6202VVC3E and a C SRIS5 number on the label. The number you have is the one used to order the bearings from Standard Bearing....

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

You can also use the NGK match. Can't remember the number off the top of my head, but listed it 2 or 3 pages ago along with bearing and seal numbers. Couldn't find the Champion plug, but found that...

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

Appreciate the info guys. I just mixed a couple of fresh gallons so will run it through and check the plug etc. before making any decisions as to whether or not to go leaner. The engine is running...

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

I'm running 50:1 at this time. A little hesitant to go leaner with the stock connecting rod bearings.

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

I've got several hours on mine now and the 15mm seal is doing great. Was a good fit to get in. I changed it originally as I was worried about short life span due to it being for a 14mm shaft and the...

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

I removed my seal with very little time on it due to it leaking so it was fresh. It leaked due to not being seated all the way back and the front lip was hanging over the tapered part of the shaft. I...

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

Mine is #767 and the only thing technically wrong was the seal not being seated back far enough to get past the taper on the shaft. I just replaced bearings etc. for peace of mind. Gregs came a week...

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

Just wanted to say thanks for the info everyone has posted. The info here helped me make the final decision to get the FTL. I fired mine up and couldn't get a good idle and transition was terrible...

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

Thanks for the video. Sounds healthy, look forward to seeing it in the air. Can't wait to get one in the DP 330. Will pull it a lot better than the 180 in it now.

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

Thanks for the reply. May just have to give up and go directly to Hobby City. So far the engine sounds worth a go. I'm planning on putting it in my Dave Patrick Extra 330L. Could use a little more...

RE: FRL45 Gas engine Whats the verdict?

Has anyone managed to find a place to order one without going direct to Hong Kong? Have tried to get ahold of the Canadian importer, but have gotten no replies. Have two of us that would like to give...

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.

When I did the Falcon scheme for Marks B25 I had to repaint the entire tail section and had an automotive paint supplier I use mix the color I needed.
