The method geh3 has suggested below is good but I will add a couple of points.

1 - Look up a "Vanessa" balance rig - easy to make and they work on pretty much every plane.

ALL of that is very sound advice

You can also purchase Lead shot and mix it into epoxy and glue it to your firewall.

The other name for them is fishing sinkers ;)
You can buy them form your local tackle shop.
