RE: Venom-Group Micro Jets

OK, back by popular demand, Venom Micro T-33 WITH landing gear! Same method as I outlined earlier with the Sabre but I used an aluminum tube instead of a ball-point pen barrel. Added an $8 servo for...

RE: Venom-Group Micro Jets

I just saw the aftermath of the crash, the crater, debris and some fire. Missed the farm house but parts did hit it. The pilot bailed safely.

Flew the F86 and my F-16 again today. Perfect...

RE: Venom-Group Micro Jets

Oh and always use 2.4 radios for small electronically "noisey" planes.

RE: Venom-Group Micro Jets

My gear is just old park flier parts and tail wheels from departed aircraft. The plastic plates for the mains are from a GWS P-40 and I just looked at pictures on line of Sabres to approximiate the...

RE: Venom-Group Micro Jets

The owner of our local hobby shop put the micro GWS retracts in the L-39. Used a Dremmel tool with the stone grinding wheel to make the cuts for the retracted gear. They worked perfectly and looks...

RE: Venom-Group Micro Jets

"Maybe your gear addition moved the cg?"

No, still balances at that point and seems perfect in the air. The gear weighs nearly nothing. The elevator is dead center on the horizontal needing no...

RE: Venom-Group Micro Jets

The picture in the instructions shows where I balanced it. 107mm is quite a bit further back and would put the GC so far back the plane wouldn't be flyable. Mine didn't need any weight to balance...

RE: Venom-Group Micro Jets

Hobby Partz (hobbypartz.com) offers a 1000 mah 30C 3s lipo that fits in the F-86 and I assume other models. You have to change the connectors but I have quite a few flites and the 30C seems to be...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

Yeah, a thrust line is a thrust line regardless of the power source. You'll note right and down thrust are already built into the firewall alignment. That is good! Just mount your motor square to the...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

Saw an electric conversion in M.A.N. article about an eletric meet but I don't think many details were published. Horizon has a nice guide at their website for matching motors, ESC's and batteries to...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

My Corsair and its specs are already in this forum but after 400+ flights, I decided to recover the plane. I used MonoCote with almost but not quite matching LusterCote on the cowl and canopy frame,...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

The stock wire is junk and will eventually break. My tiller wire broke and it was a bit tricky to bend a new one with real spring steel.

Have been flying my F-16 for about a year now and its...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

koolaid535, may I suggest reading pages 1 through 3 of this message board.

TWD, I know flyers who fly it just find "as is" without any weight added. Mine has about 1/4 ounce under the nose cone...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

Had a little run in with a cross wind landing that caused a bounce. The nose gear bent back far enough to break an area of the inlet duct 2" by 2 1/2" out in 3 pieces. Lucky I had put some window...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

HL receives no benefit from you having a non-functional plane. They will make it right. My plane runs fine and flies real scale-like and that's what I like!

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

Yes, I had the cutting out problem also whenever a control using 2 servos was activated. I forwarded all information on the problem to HL and they replaced the ESC/BEC and it has worked normal. The...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

I've had many enjoyable flights and I get standing O's for my scale landings. It's not the fastest, most scale and certainly not the most expensive EDF F-16 but in 35+ years of flying RC, it is one...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

Old Navy, I took some nylon window screen and attached it with pins and a little glue on the non-removable part of the duct after removing the belly pan. My third landing I picked up part of a weed...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

I would contact HL. It sounds like you are also having the ESC problem and I believe HL will make it right when they have a solution. I've grounded my plane. The glitch occurs when any of the...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

I cleaned the connectors from the ESC to the motor with denatured alcohol per the advice of one of our electric experts. I suspect the sweat shop in China doesn't have much in the way of any...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

Oh, if you get any bings and bongs in the foam, the light-weight 'pink' spackling paste can be smoothed into a dent and then painted with acrylic poster paint from any craft store. I bought a bottle...

RE: F-16 fighting eagle from famous

I've contacted HL to see if there is an issue.

How do you like the F-18? It looks good but it's smaller and for me with bad eyes, I suspect, hard to follow.
