Hey, that looks great.

I'm just in the process of starting the build onone of theseand I'm wondering how the balance came out? I'm thinking of shortening the standoffs to get the spinner back a...

RE: Small hole in the carb's choke plate.

From my number of posts you may question my experience, but I have soldered that hole shut on several carburetors including one on a gasoline RC airplane engine. In my opinion a good solder job...

Midwest 27% Cap 232 shear web question.

I'm building a 27% Midwest Cap 232 and I've been trying to make it as light as possible, as I have heard this kit builds heavy. The kit comes with lite ply shear webs for use between the first 3...

RE: NEW Hanger9 27% Cap 232G!!!! Build Thread!!!

On my Cap I found one of the plastic thumb nuts for the wing attachment had cracked. However, this was after a crash and I dismissed it as damage from the crash. I machined a couple out of aluminum...

RE: DL-50 engine

FWIW I have the H9 27% CAP232g with a DL50 in it and did nothing more than put the batts up in the engine box and used the pull-pull for the rudder like they suggest with a gasser. The CG is right...

RE: Chargers

I have the B6 from the middle of the page here. Link

It was the best value for a "do all" charger I could find. I have been buying motors, battery chargers, speed controllers, and batteries...

RE: CHARGER ADVICE NEEDED

An alternative to the BC6 can be found here:

B6 Charger

It's about the middle of the page. I have both the B5 and the B6. I aqdded the B6 because I got into A123s. Great prices and they...

RE: Advice

I just went through this same type of decision. I was torn between a new Blade 400 and a used T-Rex. I ended up buying a used T-Rex450SE here on RCU for $500.00 shipped. My rational was that I was...

RE: Copperhead Venom 45

Tim,

I didn't think it was appropriate to post matters of money and unkept promises in the thread. That is why I sent you the pm. It wasn't a threat. Now the story.

Upper rod bearing...

RE: Copperhead Venom 45

JJTORRANT's crankshaft is the same. His is not cantilevered either. The stock ones are a pressed together 3 piece crank. It looks like his will end up being a 4 piece unless he is making the other...

RE: Copperhead Venom 45

Mine was not a broken crankshaft but a failed upper rod bearing. If you look back through this thread there was at least one other upper rod bearing failure besides mine. Mark replaced the rod...

RE: Copperhead Aviation Venom 45-30

These are pictures of the upper rod bearing from my V45. It was on its' 5th gallon of gas, mixed at 32:1 since day one, when I noticed it didn't sound quite right. Took it apart and that's what I...

RE: anything bad about the dx7?

I disagree that there is no difference between the 72mhz systems and the Spektrum when it comes to low voltage. Here's the scenario:

Let's say your servos put a momentary load on the battery...

RE: Copperhead Aviation Venom 45-30

I got rid of the primer bulb right away. Too much extra plumbing. For me simpler is better. My V45 was slow to prime so I soldered shut the small hole in the choke plate. That made a big...

RE: Lighter flies better?

Slightly different approach:

1. Build an overpowered, lightly loaded aircraft. Fly it and note results.

2. Install a restrictor plate behind the carb to reduce power. You may have to...

RE: How to cure stall snap to the right

I didn't mean to imply I was looking for another solution...........

I'll be interested to see the replies to this. I have the same plane with the same tendencies. FWIW I just reduced my elevator throw until it stopped. That ended up being about 8 degrees for up...

RE: Copperhead Venom 45 Prop Shaft Removal
