RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

Sorry for resurrecting my old build thread, but if anyone's interested in a Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 kit (half built) I'm selling mine along with all my other stuff. It's the Ultie 2 referred to way...

RE: NEW 30% BME EDGE II

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss. I had a Kit built Ultimate go in due to a bad power switch on the second flight. That was over 2 years ago & it still hurts.
I would recommend writing a...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

I'm glad to see you've gotten some good out of it all. I've unfortunately been slacking for quite a while on my building so I haven't made any progress yet on Ultie II. It's still sitting with the...

RE: Carden 40% Edge 540 build ( first time)

I won't be able to offer much help, but I'll certainly be watching your progress. I'm hoping to get a 35% Carden for this winter. ;)

RE: What plane will allow me to fly 3d in the wind?

to be honest, they all fly in the wind just fine. Obviously the lighter ones get tossed around more, but they still fly fine.
I took my 40 size mojo (very light) & 6mm depron foamy (feather...

RE: Fromeco LiIon Batteries

I personally think it's a liability thing, because there is always a chance that they could burn. I have fromeco's in two planes & I leave them in to charge & have been doing it for about a year.

RE: Pull pull cross or not to cross?

It really doesn't matter weather you cross them or not as long as you get the geometry right. I typically look at where my servo mount is compared to the slits for the cable & go with what fits the...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

The kit comes with metal bolts, but you pretty much have to use loc tite on them if you don't want them to vibrate out.

When I was running the engine in on mine (on the ground) both vibrated out...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

Not yet.. I finished the wings & all the tail feathers last summer, but got distracted on a couple other projects when I was waiting on some replacement aileron stock from Goldberg.
We had a few...

RE: SEALING HINGE GAPS

I've always just layed it lightly across the whole hinge & then used the back side of my x-acto knife to push it down on one side & then the other. it's pretty stretchy so it doesn't have to be...

RE: NEW 30% BME EDGE II

I had one of my wheel pants catch some grass on a not so nice landing last fall & popped the left side of my LG block loose. I just epoxied it back in place & FG'd outside & inside and it's as good...

RE: SEALING HINGE GAPS

I use foamy hinge tape on all my planes.

I seal all surfaces on the under side end to end (over hinges) for ail & ele & flip a coin for the rudder. :D

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

I just dug through my old pictures & found one that has the CG point from the plans. If you notice on the bottom of the pic, it says "balancing range". So, if you invert it as stated before & stay...

RE: Mojo 60, UCD 60, or Fusion??

Well, an excellent build thread is the manual itself: mojo 60 manual. Another great thread and a place to ask any questions is Mojo for Dummies. The dummies thread is for a 40 size, but they build...

RE: Beginner 3D Advise

There's a ton of them out there, but for outdoor use I'd recommend 6mm depron ones. The 3mm ones break too easy outside. :D

I've had a couple Hobby Lobby Yaks which fly pretty decent and more...

RE: PAU/BME Edge III Pics and Maiden Report

Congrats, you're gonna love it. I too am the only one at my field with a BME Edge. It's nice to be a little different.

I'm sure you've already found it, but there's a ton of great information...

RE: splicing balsa fuselage stringers

Probably a matter of personal preference, Whenever I splice two pieces together I always use thin CA because it penetrates the wood the best.

Heck, you could always do a couple test runs with...

RE: which motor, YS63s or Saito 82 ?

I've got a Saito 1.25 & a YS 63 & they both run perfectly. I've got probably 150 flights (& 20 crashes ) on the YS & have never had to touch anything after I broke it in. I also run a 13x4W on...

RE: which motor, YS63s or Saito 82 ?

I haven't flown the Saito 82, but I can't imagine a better motor than the YS 63. I have run it on a OMP katana & on a mojo. It's an absolute rocketship climbing out of a hover with 30% coolpower &...
