RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Yep, just change your throttle curve to suit. That pitch range looks fine for scale style flying.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

There's 3 tick marks on the carb barrel, the middle one is half throttle. Start there though the hyper puts out a lot of power so you may have it throttle curved down to 35 percent at hover.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

In the 3D world we call that woof and poof. Woof is the sound it makes (you probably know what I'm talking about) and poof is when the out of track blade hits the boom and the helicopter explodes in...

Blade woof.

First, check the spindle, its probably bent, though that will cause it, its more often a result.

Next things to look at are:
Radial bearings should be a tight fit in the blade...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

She "asks" ?????

I assume he's talking about either greasing the bearings during the build, or locktiting the pinion to the pinion bearing.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

What I do with the MG is put it in limiter mode and set it to like 1750 or so in normal. It will only engage if your throttle curves let the head get up above that.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Whats a lot of work? 4 bolts, a ball link, and the exhaust pressure hose :)

The mavrikk head is the same geometry as the stock head so no you don't have to change anything.

You may find...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Long term storage I'd shoot a bit in the glow plug hole and turn the motor over a few times, stick maybe a 1/4 of a normal syringe full into the carb hole and again, turn the motor over a few times. ...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

The crankcase is critical because thats where the bearings are.

If you pulled the engine/clutch/fan to do it then I'd hand flip the motor or you will get a really good seal on the ring and can...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

I'd oil up a motor thats sitting more than a week or two but its humid here in Florida. Whatever works for you. ATF is pretty much the same thing as after run oil and dirt cheap.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

I'd pull the motor, soak the inside with ATF and stick it in a zip lock bag with the air pushed out of it. If the plug is new pull it, if its old just leave it and change it when you fire it back...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Airplane engines work great in helis.

Till they burn up.

And that is after you cut the crankshaft off so you can get a fan on it still have it fit in the heli.

;)

Do yourself a...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

I tried it. The only thing that really stood out was the shake on spool up is greatly magnafied by sitting on floats, it really did the jitterbug. You really have to power it up quickly but after a...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Yes there is a marked performance difference. They will be smoother and spin faster for a given throttle setting, if you dont have a governor you will have to lower your throttle curves.

They...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Get rid of everything between the header tank and the carb and see what happens. It sounds like you're drowning the plug. Also make sure your clunk line isn't sitting on the back of the tank. ...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

You mean V2, Titan, SE etc?

The Titan is the latest model, you could call it a V3.
The V2 or version two is out of production. The differences between the Titan are more refinements than...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

No it shouldn't

Determine the freqency.

High = engine/clutch or tail rotor (fins a blur)
Lower freqency like a wobble is usually a shaft or in the head.
