RE: GSP Giles 202

Well, this is the third time I tried to post this. The site been pretty slow. I saved the wing cuffs from my P-51 PTS and might put them on my Giles before I give up on it. Kinda like training wheels...

RE: GSP Giles 202

I didn't fly with that prop. First flight was with a 18x8 wooden zinger. Pulled about 6800 rpm. Tip stalled at 6 ft from ground at landing. Hit hard, this is a tough bird. Broke prop. Went with a...

RE: GSP Giles 202

Go ahead and say it. I have big shoulders. Even with a more powerful engine on the front I don't think I like this bird. I plane on going with a Sukhoi-SU31. Probably this one...

RE: GSP Giles 202

Anybody with a SPR 26cc on this bird use a 16x8 prop? I flew once with a 18x8 and felt the rpms weren't enough for this bird.

RE: GSP Giles 202

I cut mine in half and used epoxy to glue it in the wing first, then to the plane. I think if I was to do it again I’d buy copper tub the same size and make one peace that would go from one wing...

RE: GSP Giles 202

Ran two tanks through my SPE26cc and without adjustments to the top end it peaked out at 9010 rpm’s. I took off the master airscrew 18x6 prop and put on a zinger wooden prop 18x6. Had to richen the...

Thanks for the advice. I'm use to no expo should I start with none at all? And could you give me the throws you used on yours?

RE: GSP Giles 202

It was exciting. It was a rush. The adrenalin rush I got was a thrill. Just to pull off not crashing my plane was a thrill. Maybe you’re too old for this sport if you don’t get a thrill when you...

RE: GSP Giles 202

As I said the instructions said it's ok to brake the engine in the air. The motor wasn't dying on me at all. I just didn't ajust the top end up, just left it rich.

RE: GSP Giles 202

Try this web site: They sell the plane. http://www.egrandbuy.com/aegi20214072.html
After having some time to look back at the first flight I set a rate on my low rates 22% and a higher rate 30% in...

RE: GSP Giles 202

I have a 18x6 and I put 3 1/2" wheels on it and have plenty of ground clearance. I had to add 6 1/2 oz's of wt in the nose to set the CG. I was concerned about the added wt of the 40cc but it looks...

RE: GSP Giles 202

Ok Zippi. Your vido sold me. It sure looks like that plane preforms well with the 26cc on it. Good enough for me. I didn't like the added weight of the 40cc. So I wen't with the PSE26cc. Mine well...

RE: GSP Giles 202

Cool video. Looks like plenty of power with the 26cc. That landing looked a little hot, was that a typical landing? And what size prop did you use.
