Depending on if the belt is reinforced AND if there is much resistance there. I would be more interested in replacing it with a chain like in the Chevy V-8... but that would increase noise too.

I read somewhere that one motor applies the drive for the tank and the other does the steering. Pretty neat idea.

Are there any images of inside the gearbox and how it works?
