RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Sam - I also express sadness over the loss of your Corsair. I was hoping to see it at the Goldendale warbird event.
I believe I purchased a tail wheel setup from you earlier. I feel like a vulture...

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

I have a tail wheel from Daddy Sam and I used an electric retract unit from Wingspanretracts.com to raise and lower the tail wheel. Works smooth and solid.

This is my nosen P-51 tail wheel and door setup. You can see the plywood plank hinged on one end and the other end attached to the doors by ball link control rods. The doors are held open by a spring...

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Thanks

mrrandyman

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Randy - Those doors look great. You offered to pull some off for others that wanted some. I would definitly want a set but could you make them larger for a 5 - to 51/2 " wheel?
Thanks,

Galen

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Could some of you tell me what tool or tools you use in making lightning holes?
In the past I've scribed circles then ground out with a small grinder. Not to proffessional looking. From the...
