RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

It looks kinda high to me - that it might get in the way of the top of the cowling. But then you've probably already checked it out. Why not just get longer engine mount screws and bolt the plywood...

Bo - I don't receive High Flight - I suppose I should. Looks like a good thing to support.

Bo - Yes the bend over the ply end allows the pickup to face the magnet. To balance the backplate I just milled out some extra alum. further out from the magnet.

Hey Dan - I'd love to go to Woodland but my schedule won't allow it. I'm pretty sure Bob and Roy are going to be there however. I missed both Whidbey and Princeton – maybe next year.
I'm glad to...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

Bo - No flexing of the plywood arms that I can tell and the twinsync works great. I used an end mill the diameter of the magnet and just milled in deep enough to hold the magnet flush with the back...

Bo - Glad to help. Not only do they look nice they work great. What brake valve are you using? I have the UP-6 in mine.

Bo - The brakes work very well. I can hold the model stopped and run it up to 3/4 throttle without dragging the tires. I haven't flown it yet as while taxing around the driveway one of...

Mark - Could you also let me know how you get the glow driver on the twin-sync set up? I have been trying to get a remote charge port and switch to work as well and have given up. I have installed...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

Bo - I drilled out the Robart struts. They seem to be strong enough. If I had it to do over I think I would turn down the axle size to 3/16" where it goes through the strut. Someone on the thread...

Bo - Do get the extension. It's messy enough without them.
I spent most of the day running the 55AX's. Good running engines. I had a terrible time getting the Twinsync to work but found I was...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

Bo - You don't really need the brakes. But I like them just because I'm used to using them on my jets. I ran up the engines on the 310 the other day and the brakes held it solid. Again, It's a...

This is the first time I've used one but it has a good reputation. As I mentioned I haven't got it set up properly yet so I can't pass judgment. Here is a link to the support thread on RCU.

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

Bo,
Unless the gear was ordered for the 310 they won't have the holes. If they were, you can check by putting them in the retract position and look for a drilled and taped hole on the face of the...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

Notice that the link on the Citation is aft. I agree - It looks better facing aft.
I think the reason the link on the C-310 is facing forward is some engineer thought it looked better that way or...
