I remember seeing Teflon washers that size but do not remember seeing them on either brand of engine? I just don't have a picture in my mind for their use anymore?

Fuel tank position would only have CG and total weight considerations as fuel draw or siphoning are not part of the picture because of the pump and regulator of the carburetor.

Get a new fuel inlet and install it in the direct you want.

Pull the old one out and push the new one in.

You can not turn them as they will break or collapse.

They are available from hobby...
