The reason Taz and others have problem with their engines is that they use aftermarket Pit style mufflers with too large out let holes and too little volume!

Hi!
If I were you I would change the tank set-up to a Uni-flow and if that won't work install a Tettra "Bubbleless" tank.
-And use the original silencer!
