I just measured a set of plans I have and when the wing centerline is parallel to the ground - 0 incidence -  there is 9 1/2 inches to the prop hub. A 16 inch prop would give you 1 1/2 inches...

I'd say you need about 1" of ground clearance when the airplane is sitting on its wheels and the tail is up and level- takeoff attitude.

I have an OS 160fx 2 stroke. I also have a dle 20 and 30 but I think the gas engines will require too much of the nose to be cut away to fit around the gassers and it just wouldn't be an Ultrasport...

Rich, I'm planning a 1000 with the OS160 too. Don't know about the retracts or not yet but I think the OS will be a great engine for this.

Mike, he said 1/2 degree and I don't think that is real bad.
Gordie, If it bothers you that much you could probably sand it out of the leading edge but I doubt you will even notice it.

I'm looking for a new one also but you don't see them very often. Glad to see you getting everything. I have had 2 ultra's and have a 60 and a 1000 to build. Very nice airplane!
