your gearing is off. you just swapped the motor and i guess you used the same pinion?
cogging is a sign you should stop and change gearing. NEVER ignore cogging ..

Now the motor became too...

They are really strong, do shim the pinion though.... about 3mm's

If you are looking for real tough upgrades go with the Hotbodies Spiral gears..

I use them myself and the last set lasted me for 14 tanks , the original gears from HPI lasted 1.5 or 2 tanks...

Great engine , easy to tune and pulls wheelie's like a madman.

They have a lot of aluminium wheels for the savage.
On the top left do a keyword search "Savage"

These gears are the exact same as the ones i am using in my Savage.
I am using Hotbodies spiralgears HBC9009 and HBC9010 in my savage because after every second tank i broke the stock gears.

well..... i do own the LRP Spec3 and it is a great engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really love it easy to tune and lots of power!!
But you have to use a higher quality of nitro IMO.

I never had the overheating problem before and i am still using the same fuel.

How can i find out if i have an air leak?
The engine head is on tight and the fuel and pressure line are new.

The low speed and the high speed where at factory settings and the high speed was only 1/8 to 1/4 lean from factory settting and just 1/4 of a tank .

I'd check the crosspin in your break hub is partnumber 86094 i think it is missing.

Did you have brakes when you lost power??? If not i think this is it.

I'd check my diff's if i where you. and especially the 43 teeth pinion and the 13 teeth pinion on the outside of the diffcase.
