RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

At first I didn't know what you were referring too, but now I see you were looking at the "Customers who bought this product also purchased:" section near the bottom. I don't believe those skids are...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Here is the link to the combo I bought to get my DF4 flying brushless. Some folks say you don't need the powerzone, but I don't know how to connect an esc to the 4-1 any other way. This works good...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

All you need is a brushless motor, esc, and powerzone converter from helidirect. It will allow you to use the existing 4in1. I have it for my DF4 and it works great.
Make sure to get V1.3 on the...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

It was the wind that got me too. After the first crash and rebuild, I promised myself I just wanted to pick it up to a hover to make sure everything worked ok. Well, the wind too it, brought it up...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Wow, my first "real" flight with my DF4 since last fall. I've done quite a few mods over the winter, including brushless main motor, wooden blades, and DD tail. I've been practicing quite a bit on...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

It looks like you're not using the fiberglass support piece that supports your blades. The blades fit between the head and the fiberglass support. I am using this on my flatbottom blades. Also, I...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

helismith,
I've got the flatbottom wooden blades and mine works great at higher headspeeds. VERY stable and controllable. It's the best I've ever had it...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

New frame...mmmm... me like...:)

As far as the blades go, Nope, they tracked perfect from the store. Not sure how I would have tracked them either. It's not like you can bend them or...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

You might have to PM MR. RC-CAM on "the other forum." RCGROUPS.COM

It's brand new and I doubt it's on the market yet.

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

It's an outrunner, 3800kv motor. Esc is sonix. Follow the link for ITEM #1 on my last post and that should answer all your questions. I am using an 11T pinion on the motor.

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

helismith,

I'll put together a complete parts list and post some pix if I can find my camera (and I need to get it fixed from todays crash). By the way, yes I did work with Mr. RC-Cam and he...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

It's such a nice day here in Southern Maine that I had to take my DF4 outside for a spin. I was having a great time doing short circuits in front of my house when I started getting too cocky (I...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Hi Stevo-
I wouldn't recommend using an 11.1V on the DF4. What's the mah rating on your 7.4V? You might consider getting a higher mah rated 7.4V lipo as it will weigh more. I have two 7.4V's,...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Well I think I have finally figured out the perfect setup for my DF4. I have not been too active on this thread for quite some time, but I have steadily been upgrading my little DF4 while working on...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

I guess I could try the shims, but man... I just want to fly it! I've got a lot of "stuff" wrapped up in this $90 heli. I'm almost to the point of putting it on the shelf and buying a blade cx2. ...

1 Brushless Main Motor with ESC
2 1 DD Tail
3 Wooden blades
4. 10T pinion
5. 1800mah 10C 7.4V battery

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Orion, thank you for the picture! I never thought to move the battery all the way forward like that. I've always straddled it in between the the front landing gear. Usually half towards the front...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Thunder-
Not sure of the weight on my lips. I have two 2-cell lips. One is 1800mah and the other is 1350mah. They are both 10C (If I recall correctly). I would hate to remove the brace, especially...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Orion-
I got my blades and DD tail system in the mail today from helihobby. Got the DD system installed but wouldn't you know it... the grub screws that hold the tail rotor blade to the motor...
