I put 1/4" foam under my B&B tank and still have about an 1/8" clearance from the spar.

Here's how the bottom of my cowl looks. I had to cut 5/8" off the pipes to get the cowl to go over them.

You remove the sticky mounting tape and sand the bottom and epoxy it in place.

The instructions said to use a 5" spinner but I thought that was too big for a 33% airplane. I got a good deal on the 4.5" spinner so that's what I used.

I used a True Turn 4.5" Ultimate spinner. If I used a 5" spinner I could have used the marks already on the firewall.

I used 2-56 x 1/4" socket head cap screws and # 2 flat washers.
I didn't use a nut on the back side just Locktite.
