Okay, all you engine gurus, mike109 hit the nail on the head. Pushed a small hex driver into the muffler nipple and it stopped, pushed a little harder and it broke through, cleaned the nipple out...

Each line is only a few inches long (less than 3). The engine is mounted slightly inverted on the diagonal. No filler valve, no T, nothing... clunk line to the carb.

I think mike109 may be on to...

Now that is something we haven't checked... I just slapped my head for not thinking of this. We will certainly look at the vent off the muffler.

Pulled the stopper and checked the clunk line, put it back together, replaced the vent and fuel line, lightly pressurised the tank & tubing, everything checked good so we placed the tank back in the...

New Engine, ran great for about a 1/2 gallon.

We have tried;
12x6, 12x4, 13x6
with cowl and now no cowl
no bubbles in the fuel line
pulled fuel tank checked plumbing twice
glow plugs...

Okay...

All plumbing checked and rechecked. Replaced glow plugs (two diiferent types used), clean carb, reset needle to factory settings, leaned, richened, changed to three different props.......

Thanks Richard, been there done that. I know you all must think I'm crazy but this engine runs perfectly in any attitude, on the ground in the air, and then simply stops in a minute or two or three....

We will be doing that, we need to start with a check list and go at it one at a time. What bothers me is why did it fly so well for a 1/2 gallon and now it just stops (like water on the glow plug)....

Just found out engine 2 (at the other field) has been lurking these threads and others, they tried new Omega fuel and changed from a 12x6 to an 11x6, the...

Wrong prop.... it is a 12x6, not 13. We are still going to go down an inch and try a different fuel.

So we are assuming that the ABN & ABL engines require the same things even though the liner...

I did not select the prop (did read his manual), not my plane, but I can certainly see the prop may be a liitle more load than the engine would like. I have never read or been told until now that...

13x6 on 15% Morgan fuel (Cool Power), all synthetic. Engine has about 1/2 gallon through it, never crashed, barely used. We have a second one at another field doing the exact same thing...found this...

We changed from a 8 to an F, both new plugs, we have not left the glow power attached for more than a minute.

I second this! I have a buddy at our field that has flown about a 1/2 gallon through his 55ax with no problem, now it just stops running. We checked his plumbing, the tank is padded in foam, it isn't...
