RE: Speed 400 for Gentle Lady!?!?

I am in the process of upgrading my GP Spectra to a brushless motor - so far so good, but have not actually flown it yet. I am using the stock prop (may get a 11X6 folding prop off Ebay), NiMH 3500...

RE: Engine selection for Nexstar ArF help

I've placed a Saito 56 4 Stroke on my Nexstar. You have to use a 12in or less prop for ground clearance, but it works well. Takeoff run is a little longer, but she purrs along and sounds great. ...

RE: Horizon Hobbies

RE: Saito's Rt Angle Adapter: FA65-100 Muffler

I got a new 90 degree adapter from Horizon Hobby at no cost - they used the excuse as a warranty issue. Now a note in the package has a disclaimer that reads " A muffler right angle adapter is used...

RE: Accipiter Badius Flight Time

Depending on the amount of thermals in the area (will thermal well in good thermals only), you get about 5-7 minutes of lfight time if you are conservative with the throttle. Good airplane for a...

RE: Saito's Rt Angle Adapter: FA65-100 Muffler

I had a right angle adapter snap off on my Saito 125. Only 6 flights on it (Both Engine and Rt Angle Adapter). After bugging Horizon Hobby, they said to sent it in for a replacement - we'll see. ...

RE: Horizon Hobbies

I'm putting their customer service to the test.......by sending in a part that broke only after 5 or so flights. I first e-mailed them and checked "request a response within 48 hours". No e-mail,...

RE: Covering on Nexstar

I second this.....I have two Nexstar's and the covering is coming of both. To much patch work and not adhearing well to the frame and seams. I plan on covering it with a "better" Ultrakote. I am...

RE: 4 STROKE.... SAITO'S .... FUELS USED

I mix synthetic 15% nitro with 4 oz of Benol Castor Oil in a 1 gallon container. Works great and is oiled fine. Be careful of getting Castor on the hot muffler, it is a pain to get off.

RE: Towerkote vs. monokote

There's a reason why it's cheaper.......it doesn't hold up to what monokote does. I have 4 ARF Towerbrand aircraft covered in towerkote and it is terrible. I have 3 Great Planes airplane ARF's that...

RE: Nitromodels Tiger Moth Build along?

I agree with the overpower of a 125, mine flys straight and level at 1/4 throttle at sea level (Houston TX). Anything more than 1/3 and she wants to climb, climb, climb! Mine was tail heavy and the...

RE: tower is getting slow on shipping

I usually have no problems with Tower Hobbies shipping, but only if you order during the weekday (Mon-Thur), otherwise they wait until the next business day to ship (Fri-Sun). That's why they call...

RE: what battery do I need to achieve 15 min flights Hobbico Superstar EP

Obviously you don't know what plane we are talking about. A .32 would be way over powerful and with the engine and tank up front, it would nose over just sitting on the ground even with its factory...

RE: what battery do I need to achieve 15 min flights Hobbico Superstar EP

What you need is a brushless motor, brushless ESC, and a 4200+ mAh Lipo pack to go beyond the 15 minute flight time. But with the stock motor, even a 4200 mAh NiMH will only get you 10-12 minutes...

RE: Rechargable batteries for transmitter?

RE: Proper engine shut down/clean up procedure?

I empty my fuel tanks completely, as who knows when the next time I'll fly. As far as shutdown, I first empty the fuel tank, then restart the engine until it quits (out of fuel), and then add my own...

RE: anyone tried the new 'UPSTAR' MOTOR GLIDER FROM hOBBICO ?

I would forget the UpStar and invest in the Great Planes Spectra ARF or RTF. the only problems I've had with this sailplane was the battery that they supply with these sailplane EP ARF's - too...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I have four(4), yes 4 Saito FA-125's. Started right up out of the box in just 2 back-flips. I run 15% Nitro/20% Castor/Synthetic mix and can't wait to actually fly this bad-boy in an airplane. I...

RE: Landings my way!!

Just like a real plane, you use what you need in the conditions that you fly in. Rudder is used to correct for yaw, which is good for crosswind landings, takeoff to counteract the p-factor,...

RE: What size Saito for a GP Tiger Moth?

I'm putting a Saito 125 in mine. Plenty of power and weight, great ratio. I am putting in a bigger fuel tank though since the bigger engine, even though it is a 4 stroke, sucks the fuel in order to...
