Ok so as I said, I just ran the 7Xl + MM on 12-nimh cells. And? Nothing. The batteries I used that were lying around were 6-cell GP3300s that I made into SxS pack, and a IB4200 stick pack in series....

I doubt the 7XL or the ESC will overheat. In fact I will try it on 12 cells in a couple of days just to prove that point.

The XL motors can handle up to 4s lipo from what I understand you don't want to exceed too far beyond 40-45000rpm due to rotor failure, and for stats on those motors, try...

Well, mine actually runs fine with 11 volts so far, but yeah I've got to try it on 14volts 12-cell Nimh. Though I have a feeling 4s lipos weigh less than half that of 12-cell nimh, so that will...

If you want to stick with 12 cells, try the 7XL, it is 2382 kv, compared to the 8XL's 2084 kv.

I run the 7XL + Mamba Max ESC in my Emaxx with a 3S lipo, 20/64 gearing, and 40 series wheels...
