My personal experience is with two OS 91 4 stroke motors on my OV-10, but a friend put two Zenoah G26 motors on his bigger B-25 model. He told me that vibration was taking its toll on his plane's...

Yep. Our flying field property was transferred to a university. Their tree huggers were going to turn the area into a nature preserve. 3 years later, the field's grass is dead, the frogs, deer,...

Good advice. Shipping costs can be pretty significant for larger planes too. Sometimes it makes sense to take all the useful components (batteries, servos, motors) out and take the rest to a swap...

Prop_Washer2, I put OS .91 4-strokes in my 80" OV-10. My plane weighs 19lb and I have ~16lb of static thrust. Near sea level, this plane has a lot of vertical performance! I figure I have enough...

You're welcome my friend. I beefed up my landing gear mounts too, it couldn't hurt! Many happy landings! :)

Kim, my 80" Bronco had a slight nose down attitude with roughly 30 degrees flaps. That worked for me, so I didn't add any elevator mixing.

[QUOTE=Destroyer of Airplanes;11938566]I have replaced my spring air/home made landing gear with Sierra Gear. The difference is huge. I seriously doubt you can tear this gear up, it is incredibly...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

BTW, the reason some OV-10s tend to jump off the runway and try to climb out at a very steep angle initially is because the main gear is too far aft.

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Rich, you're very welcome. By the way, YOUR models ain't too shabby either! Besides the 81" Bronco, I also have the smaller OV-10, the SE-5, and the Fokker D7 kits. Good luck with the canopy!

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Rich, Keith may be slow in responding, depending on what is going on. He replied to my email in a couple of days. I didn't get an error message when I emailed him.

I contacted Sparky at Parkflyer Plastics. Keith said he offered to do the canopies and is waiting for a reply. If I damage my canopy, I will make a wooden mold and learn how to vacuum form my own...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Hey guys, if you have Sierra Precision gear, periodically check the threaded cap on the strut to verify it isn't backing out. I had the cap unscrew after a "firm" landing and noticed my plane was...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Gsmith6879, congrats on the maiden, it's nice to get that over with. She is a beauty. You're right, they all seem to fly well, it has to be one of the best flying twins around. Welcome to the VMO2...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Gentlemen, for what it's worth, I put spruce spars in my wing. My plane is ~19 lb RTF (some are a little heavier), so I don't regret using spruce. BTW, my 3 piece wing was ~1 oz lighter than the...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Yes, I ordered mine a few years ago; you could get either the "scale" nose gear that rotates forward, or the "sport scale" gear that rotates aft. I assume you can still order either type. (Sorry, I'm...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Rinnander, if you have the ARF, check the nose gear mount to make sure it is braced properly. I installed the Sierra Precision nose gear, then tested the strut a few times by pushing down on the fuse...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Rich Uravitch really got the CG, thrust and incidence angles right. I never touched the trim on the maiden flight. The plane flew straight and level hands off. Nice work, Rich!

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Hi Paul, thanks for the kind words. I made a shim out of wood, but washers would work also. Trust me, you will love the way your Bronco flies!

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

Hmmm, maybe the next OV-10 will have a 3 piece wing?!! Double check your dimensions to make sure your plane will fit in your vehicle, I had to separate the wing panels at the nacelles to make mine...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

To be honest, after inspecting the ARF's wing, I decided to start over. I started with the Uravitch plans, but instead of making a one piece wing, I made the main center panel and two outer panels....
