Buddy Port in Spektrum DX6?

I was all set to buy the DX6, but then I realized I didn't know if it had a trainer port. I need one to be able to interface with my joystick (MS Sidewinder Force Feedback), so that I can fly with...

RE: looking for cheap tamiya to handle 3s li-ion

hands,

I wouldn't even consider a 1p. When I say 20A max, I mean 20A continuous without a significant drop in life cycles. Also, the 2p setup was meant for a 540, which to my knowledge draw...

RE: looking for cheap tamiya to handle 3s li-ion

Hmm...that's odd about the motor. Can't you just gear it lower? It's a physically bigger motor, so it would be able to handle more power, which of course means speed. Then again, I assume...

RE: looking for cheap tamiya to handle 3s li-ion

Is the only difference between the gravel hound and the rising storm the body, and the addition of an esc with the rising storm? The RS looks like it's got a bit more volume, so I'd probably go with...

RE: looking for cheap tamiya to handle 3s li-ion

To fit a 550, will I need to modify anything to get it to fit? While I am an M.E., this is my first hobby grade car so I'd rather not have too many variables to troubleshoot if it's not running...

RE: looking for cheap tamiya to handle 3s li-ion

I realize fitting the pack might be a problem, and I'll probably end up spreading the cells out just to make it fit. I may cut it down to a 3s3p, and could go as low as 3s2p if I had to. The cells...

RE: looking for cheap tamiya to handle 3s li-ion

I don't anticipate destroying the car in an afternoon. In my experience, even cheap radio shack cars last several months before breaking. Even then, it's usually the servo that strips, or the 5V...

RE: looking for cheap tamiya to handle 3s li-ion

Can anyone tell me how long a stock car will last at 10.8V? I'm sure I'll eventually tear up the trans, and stand a good shot of toasting the motor, but I don't have any experience with hobby level...

RE: looking for cheap tamiya to handle 3s li-ion

I've already got an esc that can handle it. I'm an M.E. and do a lot of robotics stuff, so I've got a couple $200 24V 80A ifi controllers laying around. I also already have the cells.

looking for cheap tamiya to handle 3s li-ion

I've been tinkering with cheap nikko and radioshack cars, and have a desire to mess around with something that I can get spare parts for. I was looking at cheap tamiya's like the blazing star or a...

Have motor/ battery- looking for hull

I have a bunch of motors laying around- they're from 18V rotozip tools. Anyway, rotozips pull about 600W from them, so they're bigger than a speed 700. 5mm output shaft. bearings. it weighs...

RE: Multiplex Magister RTF

Hmm...thanks for the advice on the tailwheel. It would definately be easier to land as a tail dragger. As for the retracts...I would probably make them myself- need not be too scale(for the magi...

RE: Multiplex Magister RTF

Well, I have a flying field with asphalt runways about 10 minutes from my house, but I had been planning on flying in some fields across the street from my house. No runway there, but the grass is...

RE: Multiplex Magister RTF

Hmm...should I just screw the brushed motor and go right to brushless? This is my first proper plane, so crashing is inevitable...I do already have a 7.2-24V 60A esc...and liion batterys; so maybe...

RE: AWESOME- Found Source for NEW a123 Lipo Nano Chemistry Batteries

I didnt say it would work. However, since several people are claiming high current draws are possible..I'm gonna test a bunch of cells. If indeed these cells can put out 10-15C, then they're right...

RE: Multiplex Magister RTF

Can anyone tell me if the stock motor can handle 14.4V? I have a bunch of liions(not lipos)..so I'm trying to figure out the best battery config, and how much power it can handle. (yes, power as in...

RE: brushless Esc in a boat

You can use lipos with your existing esc. Technically you dont need a special lipo esc- the difference is that a lipo esc has over discharge protection. If you're electronically inclined you could...

RE: AWESOME- Found Source for NEW a123 Lipo Nano Chemistry Batteries

I work for a tool company, and have had the chance to do a lot of testing with the new liion tools out- bosch, milwaukee, and dewalt. I dont have the test specs on dewalt, nor can I give out my...

Magister battery space/weight balance issue

I'm looking to get a magister. I've flown some planes before, but usually just styrofoam gliders converted to crappy electrics. (I have more fun building them than flying them). I've read that the...
