RE: need a new gyro

What is wrong with the JR770? I know a couple of guys that are flying these without any issues at all. At the last funfly I attended, I saw a few guys flying hard core 3D using the JR770. However,...

RE: Recommend a good site to purchase T-rex 450

I am glad that Joe was able to help you out. I have purchased at least 4 kits from him in the last couple of years.

As for a crash kit, I don't really try to keep many parts on hand. It...

RE: Trex 600 gyro ?

The gy520 is a great gyro as well. I fly with a guy that has one on his TRex 700. He prefers the performance and size of the GY520 over the GY611 that he is using on his TRex 600. There are tons...

RE: Trex 600 gyro ?

You might really want to rethink using those servos anywhere on your expensive new 600. If you search around, there are tons of threads about how these servos just don't cut it on a 50 sized nitro...

RE: NEW BLADES

The Radix blades are very nice! I use them when I am able to get the blems direct from Curtis Youngblood. You can't beat them for $23 a pair. I also really like the Mavrik wide cord blades...

RE: New to this, tons of questions

Once you get your electric setup, you should not really have to do anything other than charge your batteries and fly. I also fly nitro and know what your are talking about when you had trouble...

RE: New to this, tons of questions

Maintenance, none of the current electrics will require much maintenance once correctly built and setup. If you don't crash, all you will have to do is charge your packs and fly. If you fly like I...

RE: Show off your TRex 600's

Well guys, my 600 pictured above met an untimely death two weeks ago.[:o] It survived my poor flying skills for right at one year.:D It went down so hard that the only things that survived were the...

RE: Show off your TRex 600's

While I really like my 600, the "pride and joy" title is currently reserved for my 700 nitro. Here are a couple of pics of my helis.

Here is a pic of my fleet from about 5 months ago. ...

RE: Good main blades for a 450?

My favorite 450 blades are the Curtis Youngblood Radix blades. If you get them from a dealer they will cost you $45 a pair. I get the cosmetic flawed blades direct from Curtis Youngblood Enterprises...

RE: servos for Trex 500

I had 5245's in my 500 before I sold it. I chose them because they were metal geared and I thought they would be bulletproof like my HS-65mgs. The servos work great. However, I soon found out that...

RE: nitro or electric

Big helis also take big and very pricy lipo packs! The packs for my electric 600 are costing me $225 a piece right now.

This is true. Nitro is not cheap by any means. I have a buddy...

RE: nitro or electric

I had only run electrics for the last two years. I even went electric with my TRex 600. The 600 has gobs of power on 8S, but the packs are very pricy at $230 each, the flight times are short at 4...

RE: GOOD LIPOS TO BUY???

Those packs were not for a 450. They were 6S 2500 packs for a T-Rex 500. If you think that is bad, try pricing the Outrage 8S 25C 3700mah packs I use in my T-Rex 600.

Anyway, lately I have...

RE: t-rex 500 cheap servos

For your situation a set of Hitech HS-81s "should" work just fine. I am running the metal geared HS-5245 in my T-Rex 500 and Futaba S9650s on the swash in Protos. Personally, I would go with a set...

RE: Trex 450 gyro mounting

I would not recommend mounting it there. On my 450, I have lost two batteries (mounted on the battery tray) and an ESC from crashing when it was "tucked away" in that spot. If you go in hard nose...

RE: Should I get AR6100 or AR6200

The 6100 will work fine on your 450. I run a 6100 on my 450 and my larger Protos. I have never had a problem with either. Heck, I even run a 6100 on my 3DHS Extra 300 and I fly that thing much...

RE: Trex or blade 400?

I felt the same way the first time I hovered my 450. I was used to my little Axe CP jumping all over the place and the Rex just sort of hung there in the air.

If you thing the 450 is stable...
