Indeed, that's one of the reasons I chose it, Just the size I wanted and harbormodels sells quite a bit of 1:24 / 1:25 stuff.

Yeah , not a bad idea at all, the 40 bucks was just for plans, I can definately swing more for a built hull and from what ive seen thats a pretty good price

the taubman plans site is awesome, all kinds of stuff, the only issue is that on some plans it doesnt say if it comes with hull plans and the plans for the ribbing and whatnot

Most anything that I cant find at Tower or HarborModels seems virtually unattainabe.. I couldn't find an amsterdam anywhere even just to see how much it costs.. but a 400 dollar plus kit is way too...

Are there any smaller kits similiar too the crocket in terms of building IE you have to build the hull yourself?

51" is quite large! Thats really the only thing I don't like about the crocket...
