I clicked onto Tower about a half hour ago looking for maybe a new arf and found the new Shoestring. I start breathing heavy and drooling!! "IT'S BACK"!!
Then I see it's a 40 size plane :-( ...

RE: Any SHoestrings out there?

I know for all practical purposes this thread is dead but I lost my Shoestring about a couple of years ago due to a midair. Hey, some times it just happens. I still miss that plane!! Wish Great...

RE: Great deal on Kavan starter

I was in RC for 20 yrs before I bought an electric starter. Seemed about half had some kind of problems that really put me off starters until I saw this on RCU. It may be over kill but it flat works...

RE: OS 1.08fsr?

I have the OS 108 on my Mayhem 60. I run 15 percent and a APC 17x4w prop. Vertical out of sight. I don't run a pump and it runs fine. It's a real sweet engine and runs great with no problems. Try the...

RE: O.S. .46 AX or Super TigreG-51 Ringed

I like both engines and they are close in power but the Super Tigre muffler really sucks. Advantage OS!!

RE: Starters

For 30 years I refused to get an electric starter because I saw to many whimpy starters and batteries. Seem the only thing that seemed to work well required garden tractor battery that weighed a ton...

RE: 2 cycle vs 4 cycle

The SOUND!!! If it looks scale I need a 4 stroke in it. If it looks generic it gets a 2 stroke. Either one runs well if set up correctly.

RE: OS 120 III leaking fuel at regulator WHAT GIVES??!

When I got my OS 120 III I rotated the carb 180 degrees and installed it in the airplane. When I first ran it it leaked fuel from the regularor or so I thought!!! Turned out the fuel tubing was...

RE: Aircraft for an OS 91 4-stroke

The best plane I ever stuck an OS91fs in was a Great Planes Shoestring. Fast, smooth and aerobatic to a point. Not like an Edge 540 but still a lot of fun. It died in a midair last fall[:o]. I will...

RE: Problem...OS or Super Tigre

I really like Super Tigre engines but the mufflers are big, ugly, heavy and a real pain to keep on the engine. For that reason I have to go with the OS ax 46

RE: Engine Quits After Take Off

Neil, I will assume you have installed a NEW glow plug. The reason I mention this is this is classic results of a worn out glow plug. Had this happen to me a lot in my control line days and a few...

RE: OS-FS70S choke

I had the OS 70fs on a 40 size Laser 200 built from plans about 15 years ago. The 70 was on the plane 12-14 years. I finally retired the plane this year. The OS is now in a Pacific Aeromodels 540T...

RE: Just Engines Inc.--Bad Business

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Just Engines but that is no reason for me not to do business with what I consider a good company. So I will continue my business with them as usual.

I'm 63 yrs. old and remember all that back then and it was great. But for me these ARE the good old days. Lots of flying time and great friends to do it with. Doesn't get much better than this!!

RE: DRagon Lady ARC

I'm sure the Dragon Lady will handle the Saito 150. Mine has an OS 108 that weighs 30-32 ounces with a pitts muffler. Should look great on floats.

RE: Noise Issues

Some how I don't see 4 strokes and electrics flying together. Best to have engine power at a new field and the electrics at the old. More harmony that way.

It's hard to give someone an opinion because both radios are stone axe reliable. You will just have to decide which you like best and buy it. Just remember which ever brand you buy is probably what...

RE: Noise Issues

Doesn't look good. #1 you could try to cut the noise level. That could hold them off for awhile. #2 would be a good neighbor. Hold a club picnic some evening or Saturday and personally invite the...

RE: Acceptable Loss's At Airshows

Roby, I'll add this one. Flying at a different field tends to disrupt your usual routine in setting up your planes and and mental check list. This leads to mistakes even before take off. The rest of...

RE: World Models Midget Mustang

Rod, the one I have flys great. It has an OS91fs with a 13x9 APC prop and moves along pretty fast. It's a clean airplane and carries it's speed well, so you need a good idle on landing. Mine is a...
