Nobody said it can't be done, they said it usually isn't because the tranny takes up a lot of weight and space. That is a 1/7th chassis, which is quite a big bigger than your average 1/10 nitro...

I'm not positive about your gyro, but most should be powered on in HH mode. As you spool up, if the chopper rotates, the gyro will automatically try and return it to the orientation that you powered...

How you set your gyro up depends on what you want to do. You can have your gyro change with flight mode by plugging it into channel 5 on the Rx and using the "GYRO" settings in your radio for each...
