Thanks for the info... Hope to glass it this weekend. I'm guessing two layers of 4oz cloth should do the trick. I'm planning to make the cowel flush with the fuse instead of overlapping....

In all my 25 years of builidng and flying, this is the first time I'm crossing this bridge. Looking for advise and tips for laying up this cowel. Once I'm done shaping and sanding I'll pop it off...

Ultimately you can do what you want with it.... However, the wings are ready for covering with "Econocote". I think that's what it was called?? its the lower temp version of Monokote. I don't...

I just figured it out after opening that little bag with all the screws and parts...... Thanks for your confirmation and quick response

However, I retracts are suppose to accept 7/16" struts. ...

Tailwheel assembly - 86"

Anyone else have a problem with the tail wheel assembly? The assembly came apart on the third flight. It was on a low flyby so I was able to find half of it but I lost the wheel and main axle...

I'm going to maiden the new Yak tomorrow, we'll see how it goes. I don't have a spinner but I don't think a spinner alone will make that much of a difference on CG. I'm also using the stock side...

I'm finished assembling the new 86" Yak per the manual less the canister. I used the stock muffler that comes with the DL 50. It seems to balance very tail heavy. Is this to be expected?

OK I figured out the second question regarding the throttle.... brain freeze I guess. I set full throttle first then backed off on the low end....

open to suggestions on the cooling question

I'm just about complete with assembly on my new 86" Yak. Once again, awesome plane....

If I use the standard muffler, how much of the bottom of the cowl do I need to open for adequate...

Even for basic Imac flying? I know all about the total investment philosophy, I'm just trying to get a feel for why a strong analog servo may not be good by todays standards. It was a great servo...

I have a bunch of new HS 645 MG servos rated at 133oz (6v). Just wondering if these will fair well for aileron and elevators in the 86" Yak I just got in the mail..

Just seems like a backwards move... Not sure I can picture my vette with chrome bumpers. BTW, I don't have anything against aluminum, just seems like a compromise.

In this day and age of composites, what's up with the aluminum landing gear? I'm a happy owner of the 102" Yak and looking for a 50 size Yak. As much as I love the QQ Yaks, this kinda draws me...
