I think of the plant resins as gum. Some of these referances seems to call the congealed oil and varnish as gum. So I am not sure what they consider gum. Perhaps the degumming process only refers...

Morgan's is the same stuff they put in their Omega fuels. Fox's is the same as there fuels also. Best grade available Bakers AA.

You can buy castor oil from Fox as well. Morgans will also sell you castor oil. I think about $18 to $20, but give them a phone call, you won't find it on the web sites.

You cannot use Baker A castor in medicinal castor because it is more likely to contain small amounts or ricin poisen. Medicinal castor is Bakers AA which has been tested for traces of ricin poisen. ...

Look outside of the hobby shop, Sig's sells it, but it is cheaper from Morgans and Fox manufacturing. Not expensive either.

He is exagerating the obvious. Castor oils is about 80% ricinoleic acid.
