Does everyone still like their On-Axis? I'm looking for something along these lines and wonder if it just flies like a typical bigger foamie or something better.

Basic District Question

Do you have to fly in the district in which you live? I'd like to try sportsman for points and am in district 6 but would prefer to fly in district 7. Reason being that humidity and I don't get...

RE: Funtana 90!

Hi TManiaci ,

I should have explained that was my frustration after speaking with a support tech with the manufacturer. It was not real helpful, actually pretty frustrating.

Later I...

RE: Funtana 90!

Hi,

So the Saito 150 will work, that sounds good since those are not too pricey used. What about the landing and prop clearance?

Thanks for the help!

RE: Funtana 90!

Hello everyone,

I searched around and didn't really find an answer to my question.

The Funtana I have has an OS 108 and weighs 9.75 pounds. It is just about zero fun, very, very...

RE: Slow Ride?

The linkages are just carbon rod with heat shrink hinges, they work really well. The elevator and rudder are pull-pull and the nose is 6mm epp.

Here are a couple of websites where I study the...

RE: Slow Ride?

Last year I emailed Sascha about a kit . The kit and shipping would be on the expensive side (close to $100). You might want to try the Smove by Manuel Nubel it flys as slowly if you really keep it...

RE: Ikarus F3a shockflyer

I agree with bdavison that if you can go lighter it would be worth it. I flew mine with a 24gram motor and it was still a little porky. The AXI you list is 44 grams. Servos in the 4-5 gram range...

RE: Homemade Shock Flyers

Yes, they are 3mm foam. If you have any EPP laying around cut some sheets about 6mm and make the motor mount/nose out of that. This makes a huge improvement in durability and actually absorbs some...

RE: Bearings?

Thanks that helps explain why pattern flyers mention rebuilds , new ring , etc. It sounded like the references to the parts changes were a matter of regular routine. I always assumed pattern planes...

Bearings?

After reading around the forum and elsewhere, I keep seeing mention of bearings and rings being changed in engines used for pattern flying. I have not heard about this with other types of flying. Can...

RE: Need Advice...

Thanks BlwBlw,

Thanks for the info. It would be nice if a YS63 would be enough to power it,since that is the engine I actually have. What do you think maybe, maybe not (ys63).

RE: Need Advice...

Thanks Mike,

The changes to the Epsilon sound like a good idea. Do you have a idea of how much to shorten the aileron? I'll post progress on the kit with photos. Any recommendations for servos?...

Well I'm going to build the Epsilon and see how that goes. I still need to buy an engine anyway. If it flys the way its been reported that will be what I stick with for a while. Having...
