RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Decided to "mini monster" my MT2 a bit. Put on some Masher 2k tires, 13tooth clutch bell and painted up a new HPI DSX-2 body for her. She seems to do well with the new setup.

RE: helppp!!!

Did you check to make sure the plug is good and glowing brightly? Offhand, I would guess that maybe the culprit.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Sam, my only thought aside from your screw idea would be to find a longer shaft/hingpin that will give you more room to move the shock out.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Thanx for the flywheel info Syco. I have a buddy with a savage, perhaps I will see if he has a spare flywheel I can test fit.

I am kicking around the pro-line flat iron tires. They are about 4...

RE: Show off your ST thread.

My fairly new MT2 3.0. I had wanted one for years, but always went with something different (RcC10gt, OFNA buggy etc). A few little upgrades like alloy steering knuckles and aluminum rear shocks..

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

The RS4 clutch shoes was sort of a stopgap, although it seems to be working well atm. Shortly I intend to go with Mashers, 13t clutch bell and will then probably go with a Savage flywheel and clutch...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I too recently got a MT2 3.0 and in short order broke the clutch spring. Not willing to keep buying entire clutches to get a spring, I went with the RS4 two shoe /2 spring set up and it drops right...

RE: Indiana Jones on the battlefield!!

The Indy movie would pre-date the DAK if you are going for an Indy movie truck. If you are going for a general German truck (not movie specific), it would look very cool dressed up in DAK markings.

RE: HL owners - which one is your favorite?

Having always been a fan of the little Panzer's, I prefer the III myself. My Tiger works good, but I like the running and looks of my Panzer III much more. I put a bit more time and effort into as...

RE: Ageing Your Pics

Cool site. I was trying to accomplish the same thing on Photoshop, but only achieved grainy b&w. This is sure simpler to use :)

RE: Know what your buying-New PZIV&PZIII S&S-NON S&S

No the ships don't..I work for a railroad as a locomotive engineer and the cargo containers are loaded on container trains at the port(s) and we haul em East via rail. Much more cost effective for...

RE: For All You Weathering Experts......

Although I don't always used washes, I would certainly go with a dark wash to do as you suggested, gather in nooks and crannies. As an alternative, I often "paint" nooks and crannies with a dark...

RE: Airbrushing Help!

As far as masking goes, look at pictures of the real subject and determine if the camo used was hard edged(as in a very defined line as from masking) or soft edged as though done free hand and having...

RE: 45th Infantry Division tank photos

Cool pictures. Looks like they got deal on blue paint at some point :) At least they ARE keeping em painted and not letting em rust away.

RE: 1/16 decals where to buy them

Another option is http://www.greatmodels.com/ ..they have everything for scale modeling. A bit tedious to find what you need, but they have some 1/16th marking, both decals and dry transfers if I...

RE: 2nd SS div PzKpfw III Ausf.L (WIP)

Thanx guys. I finished her up lastnight. My weathering consisted of primarily drybrushing with a slightly lighter version of the base color on raised details and then using dark pastels in any...

RE: HL paint question

At a minimum, I would wash/wipe down the tank prior to painting to enjoy there are no oils from the smoke unit, assembly or even finger prints. I wipe mine down with a Windex type glass cleaner...

RE: 2nd SS div PzKpfw III Ausf.L (WIP)

Well, I finally had time to work on my Panzer a bit. I've gotten the on vehicle equipment painted and had a chance to put on the markings. Not being a huge fan of water slide decals, I used Aber dry...

RE: Some Charming Accessories

Those look pretty good. Some of the better art/crafts/hobby type stores have dollhouse sections where you can find odds and ends in close to the right scale as well.

RE: 2nd SS div PzKpfw III Ausf.L (WIP)

I didn't really model the camo pattern after any specific tank, am just a fan of the wispy soft edge camo patterns and was inspired by some of the pictures of Tony Greenlands German models and camo...

RE: 2nd SS div PzKpfw III Ausf.L (WIP)

I used Model Masters Dunkelgelb with about 10% PollyS Earth added to tone down the greenish tint of the Dunkelgelb as the primary color. From the fenders down, I used the above color with a bit of...

I thought I would post some pictures of my work in progress on my Panzer III. This being my favorite WWII armor subject, I am pretty happy to have finally gotten one to tinker with.

I bought...

RE: Opinon Wanted on Good Brand of Air Brush

Seems Streetsquid really covered everything, but I too would recommend a Passche model H single action as a great first airbrush. I find it works for most things I do and mine has lasted for...
