I bet if you drilled an #60 hole at the base of the reed cage one on each side it would cure the problem. A #60 hole would flow so little air it wouldn't be a problem, what got through would just be...

What's the carb number? Do you know how far apart the two mounting bolts are? I have a LS-100 twin I thought I might try a bigger carb on.
