RE: jerrys big boy by morris hobbies

Are there any videos of the big boy flying. I've been interested in one for a while but have never seen it fly. How is it at knife edge stuff?

Thanks

RE: Blade Landing Gear Casts - Where to get materials and sizes?

I'm not trying to be smart here but how can you break the gear on this thing. I've broken just about everything else on it but not the gear.

RE: Composite ARF 2.3M Extra Build

Flew my 2.3 today for the first time. Very nice. I am using a ZDZ 80B2 in mine. Plenty of power.:)

RE: himax 2812-850 or hacker A20-20L

I have a 3dfoamy Sukhoi with the himax and the power is adequate but I would like a bit more. It will hang on the prop and pull out just fine but I ran a himax in a gearbox previously and this is a...

RE: KingCat Brushless Foamie!

Anyone have any suggestions on a ducted fan setup to try? I'm going to cut out another one and try a fan just for kicks but have no experience in this area. Lemme know what you think might work.

RE: KingCat Brushless Foamie!

Huge thank you to Nate for posting the plans. Cut it out tonight in about an hour from 6mm depron. I added a carbon spar and 3mm depron caps top and bottom (g-force style) so it should be plenty...

RE: Ultra Stick LITE Done Right ..!

So does the light version knife edge any better than the others? I had a blast with my 40 sized one but just could not get over the poor knife edge performance.

RE: Changing 5735 to 8611 ... arm troubles....

Here's the setup in my 31% CA. Got the small arm and the big glass one both from airwild. The big epoxy bellcrank is 5 inches long. The 8611 on this setup is more than strong enough for this plane. ...

Brad,

Can you please post a photo with the cowl on? I wanted to see how far the plugs stick out.

RE: First run of ZDZ80 Twin:-}

I have the 80B2 on my CA extra (31%) and I think you will find that the vibration reduces over time as well.

RE: Comparf 2.3m with zdz 80

Dick,

Just wondered how the ZDZ100 fit in the 2.3? I have an 80B2 that I was looking for a plane for and thought the 2.3 might work. Not sure if the 100 and the 80 are the same measurements from...

RE: CA Models 31% Extra

My setup is ZDZ80B2, 8611's on wings and rudder, 8411's on elevators, lithium Ions on Ignition and main system, carbon main and tail gear, very light fiberglass spinner, and carbon 24x10 prop. Weight...

RE: CA Models 31% Extra

I have about 25 flights on mine with single 8611's and it is fine. The ailerons are very stiff and the 8611 is quite powerful.

RE: CA Extra 31% Elevator Servos

I didn't use cheaks on mine. Just let the plugs hang out. Not the most attractive but it doesn't bother me. Mine with the ZDZ80B2 balanced right on the button with no lead. My reciever battery is on...

RE: CA Extra 31% Elevator Servos

I put JR8411s in the tail of mine as per the instructions. You just have to be careful setting the depth on your dremel but they will fit. My finished weight with a ZDZ 80B2 is 20 pounds and a few...

RE: E-Flight Tribute

If you are considering the Tribute here is my honest experience.

The wings flex way too much even in level flight, the gear will not hold up, the elevator joiner will break and the fuselage...

RE: GS540 ARF vertical stab blew off

Man I must have gotten a bad kit or something. Did a very gentle blender tonight after 10 or so great flights and the inside of one of my wings came apart. Every rib in the wing that the tube runs...

RE: GS540 ARF vertical stab blew off

Fixed my vertical stab and it held up fine for 20 flights on the weekend. I am sure the design is fine and yes it could have been weakened during shipping but it could be a bit stronger.

The...

RE: GS540 ARF vertical stab blew off

As you can see the stab doesn't penetrate the fuselage in any way...just tacked on to it. If the leading edge stick went into the fuselage a bit it would add a great deal of strength to it. It would...
