Looks great! She's a beauty. I recognize the stained glass - - that is the work of Jean Pierre. That same picture adorns my Donzi

RE: Donzi

Let me get this straight. You're telling me that the Donzi runs about as fast using Astro flight 40's (12v) compared to the 970's running on 18v? Looks like I should give the Astro 40's some...

RE: Donzi

I think the Johnson motors can handle 21.6 volts. My question for you - - which speed control will you use? My ESC is maxed out at 16.8v

As far as batteries, I have many makes - 3000mAH to...

RE: Donzi

Did you buy your motors from Taterbug? If so - - that is my source for motors.

I am running 16.8v through a Novak SuperDuty ESC. No gear reduction.

RE: Donzi

Wow! Captainsmodels.com That's the nicest looking model I think I have ever seen. I'd take my whole junky RC fleet to trade for one of those. I wouldn't get close to the value of that Viking!

RE: Donzi

Slivic003 - - - I am surprised that you are using only 12v on your Donzi. To get to speed on my Donzi, I need 16.8volts. Which speed control are you using?

RE: Donzi

Nice looking boat - - and great action shots! The boat looks like it has very fast speed.

Here is a little video taken today from onboard my Donzi. Once again, it is powered by Johnson 970...

RE: Dumas Chris-Craft 1940 Barrel Back

For my setup, I am using a 7 cell battery, Pro-boat waterproof ESC ($40), and a simple Johnson 600 fan cooled motor ($3). The boat can run all day it seems on a 3800mAH battery. The ESC does run...

RE: Donzi Powering

That sounds very familiar. Although the SuperNovak speed control is a good one - it certainly is not perfect. Although it has a "boat mode" where it allows 25% power for reverse, I have the same...

RE: Donzi Powering

20mph, eh? Nah - - it doesn't go that fast, but one could wish. On low batteries, we once clocked the boat at 12.5mph. Not bad for a 30lb+ beast running on batteries!

I would advise against...

RE: Huntsman ARRIVES!!!!!

BAD01 -

Kmot suggested that I give you a couple of pointers from my experience powering my two fairly large boats. Kmot recited the power set-up for my Dumas boat perfectly - - - just that he...

Just added stained glass to the Donzi. I think it really adds a nice touch to the boat. What do you think?

The artist who made the glass for me also is assembling a Dumas Donzi. I have asked...
