RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

Is that what I would need to tighten it up a little? BTW, had it out first time at a club field yesterday...I can't believe how nice the inverted flat spins are with this thing. People instantly...

RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

Well I flew it for the first time today. It flies pretty good! Although, I must say it's not as snappy as my 1990 Ultrasport. But, it had decent verticle, not unlimited or anything, and it does...

RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

Here's the motor. Used to be a blackhead, years ago before the time and glow fuel got to it.

RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

Well, here she is with my father's old OS Max H .60. All the radio gear is now installed, and I test ran the engine (which has been bolted in a plane tied up in the rafter for the last 15 years) and...

RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

I went and got some of that 3M super 90 spray, so it's not the 77. It seems to hold the covering down really well.

RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

Very nice pic of your Kwik Fli 8178. Looks really smooth with the gear up. Do you know exactly what that car headliner adhesive is called? Is it heavy? You guys have convinced me to keep it original,...

RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

Just for fun, here's what the older .60 I have looks like. My father bought it around 75 or so and put it in a RCM/Bridi Trainer 60. His eyes went bad before he could ever fly it, but I took it up...

RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

Are you saying this model could have been built in the late 60's? I was thinking 70's, but who really knows! That's why I'd like to get a hold of the original owner- now I wish I asked him. Today I...

RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

Yeah, that's where one dilema is. It seems pretty original, so I hate to chop up the front of the airplane to shoe-horn in a .91. If you think that YS motor will work, it might be worth a try first,...

RE: Kwik Fli III with .91?

Here are some pics, no motor in it right now. What do you think about a piped, pumped YS .45 2 stroke? I know that has to have more power than a 1970's era .60. Check out the Kraft sticker and the...

Kwik Fli III with .91?

I have this old Kwik Fli III, and am debating how to power it. I have an old OS .60 "Max" blackhead engine with the "strap on" muffler, which would look very authentic, but that probably doesn't even...
