RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

Raydar,

In my case I set the engine back into the fuselage so that the engine hub was as shown in the plans and made sure that the right thrust was as called for. I also have three servos...

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

Raydar,

You might consider putting flying wires on the tail section. I had to do this with mine which is powered with a MOki 1.8 .

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

swixtt,
By looking at the fuselage it shows that this is a version II. That meaning that the landing gear is in the fuselage.

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

pacorro,
From what I can see it looks awesome. Have you enough vents for engine cooling? I know that you have an integral belly pan and that is normally where the air vents out for engine...

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

Thanks,
Your english is just fine. This gives me enough information to get started. I spent the day creating a llite plywood template for the version 2 fuselage. The one with the landing gear...

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

Pacorro,
I am impressed with your work. I think that I might alter my newest SU-26 MX scratch build to incorporate the dual wing on carbon tube. I would like to know more about how you...

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

I removes some significant weight by enlarging all of the cut outs in all of the fuselage openings and its former openings, 1/4 inch in my plane where I thought that there was enough left for...

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

Pete,
I run 5% Nitro because I cannot find FAI fuel. I also plumb in the large tubing and clunks into my tanks and use large size fuel lines also. This helps a lot.

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

Thanks Juan,
I have only built six SU 26's and have found that the only bad wood is in their wing sheeting material and I do not use that. Their leading edges and wing spars can be warped quite...

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

Pete,
My Sukhoi weighs in at 11.8 pounds. This is all up and I have a heavy backplate mount which is part of the Moki rear crankcase cover. If you do not use this mount it would be lighter.

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

Juan,
That is a great flying airplane. It will do anything you ask it to do. I have powered mine with a Moki 180 and it is a very good flying bird with that power. It is heavy compared to the...

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

I have found that with the 120 and larger engines one needs to use the large fuel line. This includes the clunk and brass tubing in the tank. I do this on the vent line also.
Yust my opinion but it...

RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build

My latest Sukhoi is now a thing of the past. Lost it due to lack of what I call intelligence. I field charged the battery and did some tweaking on the radio before refueling and taking off. As it...
