RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Running too lean or hot will definitely burn up the glow plugs. I would guess you are too lean over being too rich. Maybe there is an air leak somewhere as well since you said the needles are set...

RE: Rebuilt T-15 won't start.

You are correct, the starting pin is missing. This is what the starting pin looks like along with the spring that fits in behind the pin. Pressure Pin I'd make sure that the pin didn't fall off...

I had my clutch bell off the other day and when i removed it and took the bearing off that the clutch bell slides over, about 4/6 of the cylindrical rollers fell out of their housing. Does this...

RE: Sealing an Engine...Air Leaks

I sealed up the engine the other day and tried to start the engine today. I tried and tried and couldn't get it started. I ended up flooding the engine and stopped after that. I am hoping its just...

RE: bit of help please

From the video that you posted it sounds like you are running fairly lean. The weather definitely does make a difference and they really do need to be tuned each and every time out .

RE: Sealing an Engine...Air Leaks

I don't have a temp gun to test the temperatures but i'll see some smoke coming off the head and sometimes it'll shut off on its own. I did the water test on the cooling head and the water will...

RE: Glow Plug with Idle Bar

Yup i've taken the plug out of the engine and tested it and it glows very brightly all the way down the coils. I guess i'll just have to play around with it some more to see what the problem is.

RE: Glowplug stuck

I think i would also take the cooling head off and then take the glow plug attached to the head button off. I'd then put the glow plug into a vice or just tighten a wrench as much as possible around...

RE: Glow Plug with Idle Bar

I installed the plug with the idle bar and the piston moves fine wihtout hitting the idle bar, but the engine won't start. Does the idle bar make it any harder to start since it is blocking the...

RE: QUICK REPLY MT2

Try adjusting the idle screw that's located on the carbureator. It is on the top of the carb, and it might be hidden by the air filter a little bit. Turn the screw into the right to make the idle...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Do you drive your cars with the body on?? I'd like to drive it with the body on, but the truck overheats after about a half tank so I just drive it around with the body off. I was thinking about...

RE: Car Won't Stay Running

Haha that doesn't bode well for me then. Maybe I just need to get the tuning better. It sounds and feels pretty good but I might not be as good as I think it is. I am also running 20% nitro, do...

I have an HPI MT2 with the .15 sized engine. The thing starts very well and will run perfectly for about half a tank or about 5-7 minutes, but after that the engine will stall and I won't be able to...

RE: very hot

A hot run is usually associated with a too lean needle setting. Turn the hi speed needle to the left about a quarter turn. Go from there and see if the engine is running any cooler.

RE: 4 Wheel Drive--Only Front Tires Working

I opened up the rear differential and the gears don't really look that bad. They may be rounded off a little, but none of the teeth are missing or worn completely down. There are a few metal flakes...
