RE: Which should I get, T-Maxx or MGT 4.6SE?

Get the MGT for sure. With the T-maxx you've got a smaller scale truck and a small block engine. With the MGT, you get a true 1/8th scale monster truck that can handle a lot of terrain as well as a...

RE: RX run time on MGT..

Definitely get yourself a hump pack. You get better voltage to your servos, too. Move the battery from channel 1 on the receiver to channel 4 to take the voltage restriction off of the battery...

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

As far as I know, all you'll need is a longer throttle arm. It should fit the mounts just fine, though.

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

One thing that can help you wheelie would be to tighten the slipper clutch all the way down. Be careful, though, because the jamming of the throttle with the slipper tightened can cause bad things...

RE: 1/8th scale vw bug/baja body?

That's what I was thinking, too. If you can't mount that low, even cutting them and using it as ventilation would be better. They are a little too "happy" looking for a monster truck!

RE: MGT 4.6

You could use a McCoy MC8, since it's a medium-cold plug and is a standard size. I've used OS8 and OS A3plugs in the engine, too, and they have worked ok. They fouled out quicker than McCoy's did,...

RE: MGT 4.6

I'm using the Associated McCoy plug (MC-59, I believe). Works well for me. We have high humidity, but I typically don't run the truck when it's much over 85 outside. Give me 60 degrees and sunny!...

RE: new radio

I use a Spektrum DX3 in one of my MGT's and a JR XS3 (non-pro) with the other. I definitely prefer the JR radio to the Spektrum. Both are Horizon Hobby brands, though, and in my experience Horizon...

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

OK, it's running hot, but how does it sound and how does it run? I know that leaning in the heat goes against intuition, but it really does need to be done. I'd say, reset to factory settings and...

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

hey 71goat - With warmer temps outside, you actually want to lean the HSN a little bit, you don't want to run richer. What are your temps that you are getting right now? If you are running the...

RE: Help deciding between T-Maxx 3.3 or LST2

The LST2 is hands-down a better truck. It's bigger, tougher, and more powerful. I can't imagine that you'd ever be disappointed with the choice to get an LST2, and you local shop will probably be...

I've still yet to find a bash site that I'm really pleased with.

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

I'll ask over at MonsterGT.com. There are more racers over there that use them and actually know what I'm talking about. [8D]

RE: 1/8th MONSTERS

Same here...although, I did the research. I read too many people complaining about the clutch in the LST2 and I already had a Spektrum radio, so the radio upgrade was a non-issue to me. If I were...

RE: Dyeing a Pro-Line Wing?

RIT does best with boiling water. I've been able to dye chrome Pro-line wheels and their white wings and they colors come out best when the water is boiling. Tap water (even hot) is too cool to get...

RE: 1/8th MONSTERS

Revo 2.5 is definitely 1/10, not 1/8. The 3.3 has a bit longer chassis, making is close to 1/8th, but it still looks small next to an MGT or LST2.

As far as reliability and durability go,...

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

I already have an Ofna 1600mah hump pack, but I want to go Lipo, no NIMH.

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

Hey Scotty - Do you have a recommendation for a Lipo pack for the receiver? Is there anything that would fit in the Rx box, or do you have to move it somewhere else on the truck?

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

I think the HPI is backwards of the way you need to spin the Associated drill start. Get the Losi spin starter. I picked on up on ebay for about $18 shipped. All you need is a 6-cell battery to...

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

Hey rozeez, welcome! The MGT is a great truck, for sure.

Some things I'd do (for a bashing truck) is to do the fuel-tube mod for the brakes. The next biggest thing is the shocks. They are...

RE: Drill start shaft come with MGT?

He's talking about the drill start...and your cordless will work just fine.

I've actually just picked up a Losi Spin Starter for mine, because I don't like lugging around my 18v drill with all...
